Let's Talk About It!
Why is Georgia's new election law voter suppression?
Please stop into our Facebook LaRuelist Café live-streamed conversation @6 pm TONIGHT, April 6th with the man we feel epitomizes the face of social justice. Bishop Reginald T. Jackson, who heads the Sixth District of the AME Church which represents all of Georgia, is one of the leading opponents against Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s overhaul of the Georgia’s election laws. His district joined a lawsuit filed last week challenging the new law. Join us as Bishop Jackson speaks on voter suppression and explains why Georgia’s new law is not just a Georgia issue but affects us all. Tonight’s program is co-hosted by The Positive Community located at www.thepositivecommunity.com.
Jeannine LaRue will give her pre-Easter thoughts about blessings...
Here is my 4th holiday without Maria and I have a few thoughts about that. I’m also thinking about my front yard that is all dug up because my sewer line totally clogged...then the contractors burst the water line fixing the sewer line...which I hear is normal. And...through it all...I’m still standing and blessed. So...I’m going to say a few words about it before turning in for the night.
LaRuelist Cafe...back for Sunday PRIDE with a firechat with InsiderNJ's Jay Lassiter!
Who the heck is Jay Lassiter…and WHAT makes him tick? Please stop in LaRuelist Café today @4 pm and let us entertain you AND drop some pearls of wisdom. Jay Lassiter is an extremely opinionated charmer, unapologetically out-of-the-closet gay, columnist for the very popular non-partisan website Insider NJ, principal at Lassiter Consulting, and cannabis aficionado! In other words…Jay Lassiter is diverse in a whole lot of stuff and connected with tons of folks. One of his many claims to fame is being the creator of InsiderNJ’s annual OUT: LGBT Power List. We’re excited to have Jay as our guest today. If you can’t join us live…you know the routine…plan to view it later on our FB page LaRuelist Café or go to our website www.LaRuelistCafe.com.

Nigerian lesbian couple who put love ahead of fear and chose to live in exile to be married.
Please stop into LaRuelist Café today @6 pm EST as we have a conversation with Moji and Margaret Solar-Wilson. These two AMAZING women are a legally married Nigerian lesbian couple who emigrated from West Africa over 30 years ago. They met and got married in New York. During a time when we talk about diversity, equity and inclusion in our country, it’s fascinating to hear about individuals who live in exile because of who they love. Margaret, a physician and Moji, a business tycoon, are both passionate advocates for diversity and inclusion of all people regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, and religious affiliation. Moji and Margaret have founded Solar-Wilson Village which is nestled away on a forty acre ranch in Ledbetter Texas, 5 miles away from Round Top, a city famous for its antique shows and musical festivals. The village setting is perfect for a romantic get-away, a quiet family vacation or an artist's retreat. Their story is compelling and emotional. It’s a story about how love triumphs over all. You don’t want to miss this one.
A Conversation with Fun Loving (No Politics) Lesbians Founder Mary Anne Darling Wasilewski!
Please stop into LaRuelist Café today @5 pm and participate in the chat between Jeannine LaRue and Mary Anne Darling Wasilewski, Founder and Administrator of Fun Loving (No Politics) Lesbians. So many unique projects evolved out of the 2020 pandemic as the world went from predominantly in-person events to virtual contact. Company meetings, governmental services, family gatherings, and…yes…hospital visits suddenly were occurring over Zoom, Facetime, or other social platforms. Love connections, networking, and intimacy also found its way through virtual platforms as COVID-19 caused so many folks to feel isolated and out of the loop. In the midst of this new norm, Mary Anne Darling Wasilewski decided to start a social FB group for lesbians called Fun Loving (No Politics) Lesbians. That group started with about 300 women and has grown to well over 30,000!!! I was invited to join this group in November with great trepidation because I couldn’t imagine anything being fun without politics. And…while I had been in a same-sex relationship for over two decades, I didn’t think of myself as a lesbian. Well…FLNPL has been one of the highlights of my pandemic so far. I’ve been introduced to parts of the world, fascinating books, national and international women, and what I believe will be lifetime friends through this FB group. This discussion will be a treat!!! Hope to see you there!
