Let's Talk About It!
And...the journey continues...
Jeannine LaRue is going to share one of her most intimate moments of grief since the passing of Maria. She purchased an urn for Maria's daughter to keep her remains. Maria's daughter, Joi, gifted Jeannine and Maria's sister Catherine a locket to have a small piece of Maria. Well...the mail has arrived...and Jeannine is alone. So...she's going to open the envelop LIVE on FB. Everyone must grieve in his or her own way. During this pandemic, Jeannine is trying to be just a little bit creative to not go through this by herself.
Jeannine LaRue takes a COFFEE BREAK to fill out the VOTE BY MAIL ballot!
How many of you have looked at your Vote By Mail ballot numerous times and said..."THIS is just too complicated!" Well...I'm going to fill out my ballot LIVE so you can see me do it. And...I have a County Clerk who will join me NEXT WEEK to explain the many twists and turns of VOTE BY MAIL. It's really quite simple and efficient. Hope to you see @1 PM today, Thursday October 15th. If you miss the LIVE show...you can always watch the video later.

Jeannine LaRue SPEAKS about moving on...in and through grief...
Today marks the first full week that I'm walking my life's journey without Maria here in the physical sense. While I have no intention to give weekly updates on my grief journey, I do want to say thanks and give my take on moving in and through grief. I look forward to sharing my 5-6 minute Coffee Break with you at the Cafe.
The Ghettoization of Religion
Guess who’s stopping in at LaRuelist Café today…Sunday Sept. 20th @6:30 pm? Ok…I’ll tell you…the Rev. Dr. Bill Howard!!! Secret…he’d rather that one not put together “the Rev” and “Dr.” in the same sentence…but I’ve always loved the ring of it…so I do it anyway. Dr. Howard graduated from Morehouse in 1968 and from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1972. While I’m tempted…but won’t…go through his AMAZING biography. Some things should be left to suspense. Google his name and TONS of good stuff will pop up. I became close friends with Dr. Howard during both his tenure as Senior Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church, Newark and as Chairman of the prestigious Rutgers Board of Governors! If you’ve ever been blessed to join Dr. Howard for coffee at his favorite Starbucks, you know that on any given morning, the 8 am stop will not be over until about 11:30 am…just in time for lunch. And…in that sitting…YOU will be a listener as he breaks off pearl after pearl of wisdom. As I traditionally say about my LaRuelist Café guests…you don’t want to miss THIS one! Well…today it’s true…you don’t want to miss this one. He is going to address what he terms, “The Ghettoization of Religion.” And…I’ll tell you that you’ll be a little surprised where he’s headed with this term. Soooo…some of the questions we will address today are: Are we made in God’s image or is God made in ours? Is the Church expected to change others or is the Church designed to change us? How should the secular government weigh in on religion in today’s society? What was it about those 8 minutes and 46 seconds that made the Movement different today than the Civil Rights Movement of the past? These are just a few of the thoughtful questions that we will dive deeply into during today’s program.
