Candid conversation about where we are with the pandemic!
Let’s have a candid conversation about where we are today with this pandemic. What about the confusion over whether to shed our masks? Well, LaRuelist Café will sponsor a conversation about all of that on Sunday, May 16th @ 1 pm…live on FB and YouTube. You may have seen our guest on MSNBC and CNN! She’s a senior executive in a Newark NJ hospital overseeing Population Health, Strategic Planning, Community Affairs and the Human Experience. Yes…we’re talking about the dynamic, charismatic DR. CHRIS T. PERNELL. Last year NJBIZ named her a Public Health Hero. Graduating cum laude from Princeton University and attending Duke University School of Medicine, Dr. Pernell has become a big voice in the COVID-19 arena. A fellow at the American College of Preventive Medicine and a Clinical Assistant Professor at Rutgers University Medical School, Dr. Pernell brings a unique perspective to the conversation of this pandemic. Losing both her father and cousin to COVID, she signed up for the Moderna clinical trial. LaRuelist Cafe is honored to host Dr. Chris T. Pernell on our show today!

Jeannine LaRue will give her pre-Easter thoughts about blessings...
Here is my 4th holiday without Maria and I have a few thoughts about that. I’m also thinking about my front yard that is all dug up because my sewer line totally clogged...then the contractors burst the water line fixing the sewer line...which I hear is normal. And...through it all...I’m still standing and blessed. So...I’m going to say a few words about it before turning in for the night.

Nigerian lesbian couple who put love ahead of fear and chose to live in exile to be married.
Please stop into LaRuelist Café today @6 pm EST as we have a conversation with Moji and Margaret Solar-Wilson. These two AMAZING women are a legally married Nigerian lesbian couple who emigrated from West Africa over 30 years ago. They met and got married in New York. During a time when we talk about diversity, equity and inclusion in our country, it’s fascinating to hear about individuals who live in exile because of who they love. Margaret, a physician and Moji, a business tycoon, are both passionate advocates for diversity and inclusion of all people regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, sexuality, and religious affiliation. Moji and Margaret have founded Solar-Wilson Village which is nestled away on a forty acre ranch in Ledbetter Texas, 5 miles away from Round Top, a city famous for its antique shows and musical festivals. The village setting is perfect for a romantic get-away, a quiet family vacation or an artist's retreat. Their story is compelling and emotional. It’s a story about how love triumphs over all. You don’t want to miss this one.
