Let's Talk About It!
A Conversation with Fun Loving (No Politics) Lesbians Founder Mary Anne Darling Wasilewski!
Please stop into LaRuelist Café today @5 pm and participate in the chat between Jeannine LaRue and Mary Anne Darling Wasilewski, Founder and Administrator of Fun Loving (No Politics) Lesbians. So many unique projects evolved out of the 2020 pandemic as the world went from predominantly in-person events to virtual contact. Company meetings, governmental services, family gatherings, and…yes…hospital visits suddenly were occurring over Zoom, Facetime, or other social platforms. Love connections, networking, and intimacy also found its way through virtual platforms as COVID-19 caused so many folks to feel isolated and out of the loop. In the midst of this new norm, Mary Anne Darling Wasilewski decided to start a social FB group for lesbians called Fun Loving (No Politics) Lesbians. That group started with about 300 women and has grown to well over 30,000!!! I was invited to join this group in November with great trepidation because I couldn’t imagine anything being fun without politics. And…while I had been in a same-sex relationship for over two decades, I didn’t think of myself as a lesbian. Well…FLNPL has been one of the highlights of my pandemic so far. I’ve been introduced to parts of the world, fascinating books, national and international women, and what I believe will be lifetime friends through this FB group. This discussion will be a treat!!! Hope to see you there!

DIFFERENT, JUST LIKE YOU!
Please don’t miss this very emotional, riveting story at 5:30 pm today livestream on FB and YouTube! Today, LaRuelist Café will speak with Teska Frisby, author, mother, community activist, and public relations specialist. Teska and her husband, Samuel Frisby had unsuccessfully attempted numerous times to have a child. After many heartbreaks and miscarriages, God blessed this couple with a baby boy who didn’t arrive as a bouncing baby boy. Teska was less than seven months pregnant. That little baby boy was 1 ½ lbs at birth and diagnosed with cerebral palsy. While many would have viewed this as a dire situation, Teska and Sam saw it as a blessing, as an opportunity to approach life differently, as an actual miracle from God. That young baby, Pastor Sam as we call him, will be 20 years old this year. An ordained minister, Sam is visionary and very perceptive. He’s humorous yet profound. Sam’s life journey prompted Teska to author the book, Different, Just Like You. She realized early on that some folks, mostly adults, looked at Sam as different from them. Teska, in her wise way of looking at life, pointed out that we’re all unique…we’re all different…even Sam is DIFFERENT, JUST LIFE YOU!

Finding LOVE during a pandemic!!! Yelp...people are doing it!!!
Most of us can agree that the 2020-2021 pandemic has been tough on many of us. Some of us have lost family members, close friends, and colleagues from COVID-19. Many of us feel that we’ve lost the freedom we once knew to move about, travel, celebrate holidays, and even work from our real offices. But…some folks have actually gained something that has put smiles on their faces, songs in their hearts, and gleam in their eyes…ROMANCE…LOVE…a new RELATIONSHIP! Today at 5 pm LaRuelist Café will feature two AMAZING women…Hilarie Weilah and Beth Anderson… who joined a new FB group founded in August, 2020 called Fun-Loving (NO POLITICS) Lesbians. That group started out small and has grown to over 28,000 members with many individuals morphing their light-hearted conversations with tens of thousands of women into one-on-one phone calls to private FaceTimes to ultimately in-person visits that’s changed their FB status from single to “in a relationship.” Hilarie and Beth will tell their marvelous journey that brought New Orleans, Lousiana and Orlando, Florida together as they now find themselves totally in love and adjusting to what was a world of one to now a world of “in a relationship.”
