Let's Talk About It!
Losing a twin felt a little different than losing a sibling...
Jeannine LaRue of LaRuelist Cafe will share reflections of the last several weeks as she journeyed caring for her twin brother and ultimately losing him on January 11th. Jeannine's twin, James Frisby, was eulogized on January 20 and will be interred on January 21 @10 am military style. Here's her glimpse of moving on with intention and love.
Why WE serve and why we support these candidates!
Jeannine Frisby-LaRue, Sam Frisby, and Teska Frisby will share some insights as to why each of them has chosen a path of public service. They will give straight talk about their respective journeys into politics...the good, the bad, and the ugly. The Frisby-LaRue family will be joined by Trenton School Board candidates (Yolanda Marrero-Lopez, Addie Daniels-Lane, and Larry Traylor) to tell why they've chosen to run for offices in a City where school board members have not run for in over 35 years. THIS is a command performance show!
A Tribute to the Legend...the late Lt. Governor Sheila Y. Oliver
Jeannine LaRue will speak about upcoming events celebrating the late New Jersey Lt. Governor Sheila Y. Oliver. Jeannine will talk about questions being raised about details for the Thursday, August 10th viewing in which Lt. Governor will lie in State at the State Capital on West State Street in Trenton, NJ. She'll give details of the Friday Essex County viewing and explain the program of Lt. Governor Oliver's actual funeral on Saturday. Viewers should know that all three of these services are PUBLIC!

Capital City Area Black History Program TODAY and TOMORROW morning!
A small group of Mercer County folks got together in my living and founded the Capital City Area Black Caucus whose sole purpose is to discuss and celebrate issues and people who champion issues dealing with African Americans. The GREAT thing about it is not all participants, speakers, or honorees are Black. We've met every month for almost four years joined by our Congresswoman, Lt. Gov., State Legislators, State Chairman, and influencers throughout the Country. Well...TODAY @5:35 pm andTOMORROW morning at 9 am, all of our hard work is paying off We will be joined by most of New Jersey's TOP leaders from the Murphy Administration, State legislators, powerful social justice institutes, civil rights groups, and a special celebration of our former Attorney General Andrew Bruck. I will be on at 3:45 pm today to tell you more about this. Please join me to hear how YOU can participate through our FB live-stream program where the price is right...FREE!
Join us for a conversation with Ricardo Khan!
Yup...this is Black History Month and LaRuelist Cafe will be featuring amazing people every week. This week's guest is Ricardo Khan, a director, writer, educator and the Tony Award-winning Artistic Director who co-founded the Crossroads Theatre Company, one of history’s few African American theatres to ever rise to both national and international prominence as a major professional arts institution. Trust me...this is a must hear interview!!! Don't miss it!
COVID's in my house...and what we are doing about it! Here's rant with compassion.
Yes...my biggest nightmare has come to be! COVID has graced itself in my home and we're coping as well as can be. I do, however, want to give my take on dealing with this virus...and...a sort of rant...about what others should do to protect themselves and deal with it.
